貓薄荷也叫貓草，是荊芥屬的一種草本植物，聞上去有股子清涼的氣味。

如果把這種植物曬乾，再碾成碎末，放在貓玩具內，你就會看到貓咪瘋狂的狀態！

貓友們把貓薄荷戲稱為「貓毒品」。

它能釋放出一種化學物質刺激貓的弗洛蒙（一種由動物體分泌出來且具有揮發性的化學物質），

會使貓產生幻覺，從而使貓產生興奮，出現類似抓呀、咬呀、打滾、甜食等反映。
